If you would like to see how Pilates works, you are invited to make an appointment to visit our studio. An instructor will show you around, allowing you to experience the calm atmosphere and note the simplicity of the exercises. You are also invited to spend some time in our relaxation area and absorb the atmosphere of the Pilates method and our studio. If you decide to give it a try, you will be asked to fill out a form giving your personal details, medical history and any medical problems or injuries, including current treatments. If necessary, you will be asked to bring a letter from your doctor or specialist before you start. Your first session is an assessment session. The information you have provided us coupled with your posture, alignment, strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination assessment, will assist us to tailor your program according to your needs, goals and ability. For those interested in Pilates, it is important to make a distinction. Pilates is not just a series of mat work exercises. To fully benefit from what is often labelled the most intelligent of exercise systems, you have to study the system in a fully equipped studio, where you can use at least the most common pieces of Pilates’s revolutionary equipment: the Wunda-chair, Reformer, Cadillac and Ladder Barrel.
